LanPerf (LanDiBase Performance Test)

LanPerf is a simple test, which enables to compare the performance of some 
typical system functions. It measures elapsed time(clock function). Take into
account , that the result depends not only on processor power, but also on 
the whole enironment : operating system, video card, RAM memory, compiler used 
to compile the program. What is shown is the performance of the given routine  
in the given operating system at the specific moment of time( in multitasking  
operating systems the result may vary slightly in time).
It is rather safe, because it does not touch any system areas. 
It is compiled with gcc 2.8 specially optimized for Pentium(pgcc 2.90).
LanPerf can be also seen as a demo of LanDiBase API. 
It is added to all LanDiBase applications ( may differ from this version).

It was tested in Windows NT 4, Windows 95 and MS DOS 6(with Windows 3.1 installed).
It should work also in Windows 98.

The comparison results were made in the following environments :

Remark
-------
No relation exists between different tests in "All in one" test. 
Notice ,that this test measures only console functions.

Installation
-------------
Take any file with size greater than 1024 bytes and name it TEST.DAT.   
Then write in the command line :  
          
C:\lanperf

That is all.

If in pure DOS without DPMI loaded , download CWSDPMI.EXE from any gcc site or CDROM.  
and call   :

C:\cwsdpmi
C:\lanperf

Usually if You installed Windows 3.1 , Win95 or WindowsNT 4, the DPMI is active
in the system.

distributed with any application or computer must be accompanied with this
README file. 
But it cannot be distributed in any form as a separate software product.
